Sylvaner/Pinot blanc grape varieties – Alsace region – dry white wine – 75cl bottle – AOC Alsace – To drink within 3 years – Serving temperature: 10-12° – with shellfish, grilled fish, aged goat cheese…
It is always interesting to taste the cuvées A la vie (formerly Nature) and Mer & Coquillages side by side. At 80%, they are identical (same batch of Sylvaner). Then Patrick adds Pinot blanc in the first and Riesling in the second. And that changes everything.
Tasting: the dress is light gold, brilliant. The nose is fine, on lightly buttered and spicy ripe white fruits. The palate is round, fresh, crunchy, offering a savory and greedy substance on the hot apple and saline / spicy notes. The finish prolongs the mouth smoothly while being more toned and concentrated, with a persistence on dried white fruits and gingerbread. Vinified and aged without added sulfites
